Indication:
Aceclofenac is indicated for the symptomatic relief of pain
and inflammation of both acute and chronic pain including
osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis,
dental pain, post-traumatic pain, low backpain, postoperative
pain, gonalgia and gynecologial pain etc.
Dosage & Administration:
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
Adult:
The recommended dose of Xpain (Aceclofenac) is 1 tablet
twice daily by mouth with or after food. Children: There is no
clinical data on the use of Aceclofenac in children.
CONTRAINDICATION:
Xpain (Aceclofenac) is contraindicated in patients previously
hypersensitive to any other NSAIDs drugs or to any patients
of the products.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Aceclofenac has a good tolerability profile. Side effects may
include dyspepsia, abdominal pain, dizziness, vertigo,
constipation, vomiting and dermatits.
PRECAUTIONS:
Patients with a history of coagulation, liver dysfunction,
peptic ulcer, crohn's disease, porphyria should use this drug
with care.
USE IN PREGNANCY & LACTATIONS:
The drug is not recommended for use in pregnancy and
lactation unless considered by the physician.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Lithium, Digoxin & Methotrexate: Aceclofenac may increase
plasma concentration of Lithium, Digoxin & Methotrexate.
Diuretics & Anticoagulants: Aceclofenac may inhibit the
activity of Diuretics & Anticoagulation. Hypoglycemia or
hyperglycemia may result from the concomitant
administration of Aceclofenac and Antidiabetic drugs,
although it is rare.
OVER DOSAGE:
There are no data available on the consequences of
Aceclofenac over dosage. The symptoms may be nausea,
vomiting, stomach pain, dizziness & headache. After
overdose following therapeutic measures to be taken,
absorption should be prevented as soon as posible by means
of gastric lavage and treatment with activated charcoal.
Supportive and symptomatic treatment should be given.
