Kilgen 5ml Eye Drops

  • Moxifloxacin 0.5%

Indication:

Kilgen eye drops is indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of the following organisms : Aerobic Gram-positive mico-organisms: Corynebacterium species, Micrococcus lateus, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Staphylococcus hominis, Staphylococcus warneri, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus viridans group. Aerobic Gram-negative microorganisms: Haemophilus para influenzae, Haemophilus influenzae. Other microorganisms: Chlamydia trachomatis.

Dosage & Administration:

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: One drop in theinfected eye (s) 3 times a day for 7 days. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Kilgen eye drops is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Moxifloxacin, to other Quinolones, or any of the components in this medication. SIDE EFFECTS: The most frequently reported ocular adverse effects are conjunctivitis, decreased visual acuity, dry eyes, keratitis, ocular discomfort, ocular hyperemia, ocular pain, ocular pruritus, subconjunctival haemorrhage and tearing. USE IN PREGNANCY AND LACTATION: Since there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, this eye drops should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Moxifloxacin has not been measured in human; although it can be presumed to be excreted in human milk. Caution should be exercised when the eye drops is administered to a nursing mother. PAEDIATRIC USE: Safety and effectiveness in paediatric patients below the age of 1 year have not been established. WARNINGS: Not for injection. In patients receiving systemically administered Quinolones, including Moxifloxacin, serious and occasionally fatal hypersensitivity (anaphylactic) reactions have been reported. After a few time some patients accompanied by some reactions i.e cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, airway obstruction, dyspnea, urticaria and itching.
