Prevention & treatment of osteoporosis, hypocalcemic states dietary supplementation, healthy bone formation & maintenance. To reduce phosphate absorption from the gut in patients with hyperphosphataemia.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Two tablets daily in two divided doses in the morning and at night preferably with food or as directed by the physicians. SPECIAL WARNING AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE: Caution should be taken in patients with renal impairment, sarcoidosis, hypercalcaemia & hypercalciuria. SIDE EFFECTS: Orally administered Calcium Carbonate may be irritating to the GI tract. It may also cause constipation, hypercalcaemia is rarely produced by administration of calcium alone, but may occur when large doses are given to patients with chronic renal failure. Also there may be allergic reactions, irregular heart beats, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, dry mouth & drowsiness. Following administration of vitamin D 3 supplements occasional skin rash has been reported.
